AARE SUSPENSION

The Aare Gorge in Switzerland is a testament to the natural erosion that resulted from the last glaciation. Here, a torrent created by the melting of the glaciers has deeply incised the rock, cutting it to the quick; thus, light gradually insinuates itself into its cracks, between age-old limestone stratifications. The manual erosion technique applied to the metal blades retains this suggestion, recreating the natural appearance of the rock on the surface. Thanks to the central cut, the lamps appear in the archetypal form of nature carved out by the ice, replicating its prehistoric beauty, as if they had been forged centuries ago. Aare is available as both a wall lamp and a suspension lamp.
